Job Description

Ensure the availability of freights needed (mainly trucks and wagons) for inbound barley to Punta Alvear and Bahía Blanca malt plants from Origination storages and outbound malt and by-products (both national and international customers) for Punta Alvear and Bahía Blanca malt plants and Origination storages with best quality-cost relationship. Also responsible for the containers vessels. Assure the correct flow of export documents, export licences, phitosanitaries certificate and all documentation related to a flow of product


Supply Planning
COMEX logistic operator within the Malt Supply Chain team, end to end bulk and container vessel execution. Document management (prepare all customs and export licenses, secure admin approvals, etc). Issue Proforma Invoices. Chartering management (maritime freight, ports, storage and stuffing service, surveyor, etc) this align with growth on new markets, manage freight and forwarding providers.

Supplier Management
Monitor, review, and highlight any gaps in the performance of a portfolio of smaller suppliers to recommend and ensure delivery of improvements by suppliers or to renegotiate or change contract/supplier.
Negotiate freight rates for ground transportation following department strategy and track the level of satisfaction with the different suppliers. Widen the portfolio of possible suppliers.

Collect and analyze the key cost drivers, market dynamics and issues, areas of innovation, and alternative suppliers for a low-risk area with many alternatives/ minimum costs of changing, in consultation with relevant functions to provide solid market information for decision making.

Contract Management
Deliver required outcomes by coordinating activities of subcontractors and suppliers and acting as a primary point of contact for them while working within an established contract management plan.
Follow-up logistics and export documentation in an environment of complex rules and regulations.

Continuous Improvement
Contribute to reviewing existing operations in own area of work and generate new ideas to assist in identifying continuous improvements.
Development / Calculation / Follow up of Freight Metrics and action plans. Reports. Benchmarks.

Contract Requirements
Identify trends, summarize findings, and give feedback on existing contract performance, and provide as input to new contract processes for negotiations/ renegotiations.
Export law knowledge, regular relation with other functional areas (tax, custom, forwarding, legal, etc).

Information and Business Advice
Resolve queries from internal or external customers or suppliers by providing information on complex processes and the related policies, referring to others where necessary for interpretation of policy

Education: Logistics / Foreign Commerce or similar bachelor degree


Experience in logistics or transportation (Over 3 years to 6 years). Dealing with Latin American Countries (customers and suppliers). Experience in the Grain logistic side.
